HBI is nearing completion of a custom, 14 foot Kevlar tender for a new expedition yacht. The specification was for a high endurance, rugged tender capable of withstanding high shock point loads caused by grounding on rocks or coral. HBI designed a high-strength Kevlar lamination schedule for the hull so that it can be dropped onto rocks and not suffer damage.

This highly customized 14' tender will be powered by a Yamaha four-stroke 60 HP motor, carry 30 gallons of fuel and be able to support diving operations. The boat has a swim ladder and storage for (4) 80 Cubic Foot SCUBA tanks and associated diving gear.

This exciting boat is fitted with a high-end depth sounder and GPS system to allow exploration of poorly charted anchorages and then lead the large yacht into these remote locations.

HBI is capable of building custom tenders ranging from 11 feet to over 45 feet. All our designs are drawn by the famous naval architecture firm of C. Raymond Hunt, Associates.
